All route prices →How do you get from Izmir Airport to Manisa?
From Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport to Manisa it is about 55 km, a drive that usually takes 45–60 minutes. The airport is south of Izmir and Manisa lies to the north-east, so we first follow the ring road around the city. Then we go through the Sabuncubeli tunnels and down into the Manisa plain. As we come out of the tunnels, the plain opens up in front of us and the city appears, sitting at the foot of Mount Spil.
The tunnels replaced the old winding mountain road, so these days any difference in journey time mostly comes from traffic on the way out of Izmir. If you land during the morning or evening rush hours, the drive can get close to the upper end of the range.
Manisa has no airport with scheduled flights, so most people flying in land in Izmir, and many of them come for work. If you are expected at a factory or a meeting at a particular time, write that time in your booking along with your flight number; we take your landing and the drive into account and tell you in advance when you can be there.
Where do people stay in Manisa?
Central Manisa is made up of two districts, Sehzadeler and Yunusemre. Most hotels, the hospitals and the old town at the foot of Mount Spil are in these two districts. If you stay in the historic centre, you are close to Ottoman buildings such as the Muradiye Mosque; business travellers often choose a hotel with easy access to the industrial zone.
If you are coming for work, you are most likely heading to a factory in the Manisa Organised Industrial Zone. The zone is large and many factories have separate security gates, so sharing the company name and which gate you are expected at lets us drive straight to the right entrance. The same goes for a hotel or home address: when you send it, we check the location and drop you exactly there.
This fare covers central Manisa and the organised industrial zone. Districts such as Akhisar, Turgutlu, Salihli or Soma are further away; if you are going to one of them, write us your address and we will tell you the fare in advance. If you are heading further east into inland Aegean Turkey, the Usak route describes that drive.
How much is a transfer from Izmir Airport to Manisa?
Our transfer from Izmir Airport to Manisa costs €45 / ₺2.500 per vehicle, one way. Whether it is a team of engineers visiting the same factory, a small group coming for an audit or a family visiting relatives, the fare does not change; it stays the same however many of you there are in the vehicle.
A return trip is simply two one-way fares added together. We collect payment in cash at the end of the ride, once we have dropped you at your address; you do not need to pay anything in advance.
There are no other passengers in the vehicle; we drive straight from the airport to your address.
Returning from Manisa to Izmir Airport
For the return we pick you up at your hotel, at the gate of the factory where you had your meeting, or at the house where you stayed. Whether a car may drive into a factory site depends on the company, so we agree the meeting point with you, usually the main entrance or the visitors’ gate.
It is not always clear when a meeting will end. We agree the pickup time with you based on your flight and allow for the traffic as we enter Izmir; if your meeting runs over, just write to us and we will talk through a new time together. As the drive is short, a day trip with a morning arrival and an evening flight home is easy to plan.
You can book the return together with your arrival, or write to us while you are in Manisa; the return is at the same fare, and we confirm it once we have checked that a vehicle is available.
Good to know about Manisa
In Ottoman times, Manisa was one of the cities where young princes served as provincial governors; the name of the Sehzadeler district, meaning “the princes”, comes from this. Another symbol of the city is mesir paste: at the Mesir Paste Festival, held every spring, the paste is scattered to the crowd from the Sultan Mosque. Spil Mountain National Park, right above the city, is known for its views and walking paths, a good option if your work schedule leaves you a few free hours.
